Well, I have been to BICOL last July 18, 2009 by a plane..
I arrived at my grandparents house at around 9 in the morning.. I took a rest for about an hour or two and went off strolling to different places that served as a spot in Bicol that should be visited. And, while having this strolling thing my love for mother nature made me enjoy my vacation more. I first went sight seeing to different places mostly are hills and mountains. Then, i went looking for different trees, fruits, animals, plants, flowers, and even rode a horse, for experience and for a change. HAHAHA!
The first spot that my cousin (ate sarah, who became my tour guide) and I went to is what they called Kawa-Kawa (kawali), it is called kawa-kawa because the shape of it is like a frying pan. The place might sound simple but it's a big NO! Trust me.. You have to walk for almost one and a half hour to reach the top of the mountain, tiring right? :) But, wait there's more. Hahaha! Once you reach the top you will surely say every sweat is worth it.
One of the most distinct sight in Kawa-Kawa is the 14 stations of the cross. The pineapple plantation where you can harvest your own for 15 pesos each. And, once your on the top you will see a mini camp site and training grounds for boy scouts where you can run, play, and do horseback riding for only 10 pesos. Affordable eh? There are also a lot of nipa huts that sereves as your resting grounds when you got all tired and short of breath while reaching the top. Oh, and one more thing there are a lot of trees and different flowers and plants too.
The trip to Kawa-Kawa was surely very tiring for it took us around 3 or more hours to go up the top and down but i assure you it is reallya very satisfying trip. :)
Hope you guys can be with me the next time i visit that place. =)
